My husband's friend's girlfriend (got that?) was in a RETRO POP X AMERICAN VINTAGE Kimono Fashion Show the other night at an art / pop up shop space in Culver City. We changed the kiddies out of their dirty weekend skatepark wear and went to see what it was all about. And it was really quite awesome. They mixed vintage pieces in with traditional kimono's, which sounds weird but the stylist did an amazing job. Everything from the kimonos themselves to the accessories to the hair and makeup was extremely well done. There was some singing, some dancing, and lots of free Pocky. T & K were happy little campers. Whenever there's a roomful of Japanese girls, they do pretty well for themselves. I do suspect I've got a couple of heartbreakers on my hands.
